Girls Trip

large

{Lousy IPhone Picture}

While visiting Batterman's I fell upon this beauty.
A real wood burning stove.
It is tradition in the Patterson family to have a wood burning stove.
All the Mrs. Patterson's before me have used them.
My mother-in-law would cook her Thanksgiving Turkey in it.
I could just see it in the future Patterson Manor in the mountains.
Smoke poring out of the brick chimney while I bake pies for the Cafe in my apron.

My definition of art is:
To be appreciated primarily for it's beauty and emotional power.

I love the vintage wallpaper in my Grandma's cabin wash room.
Someday I hope to frame it and hang in my home.
Dibs!

While visiting the cabin it is custom to visit the picture board.
Not because the pictures ever change.
Rather to enlighten our minds of our wonderful family.

In response to our delay

My Father promptly messaged me.

"The weather is most spectacular and is finding us void of any want.
We are anxiously awaiting your swift arrival.
The nephews have nearly exhausted their means of entertainment and are in much need of the familiar environment afforded by your children."

"Father, we have been graced with most uncommon circumstances this morning. We are expecting a glorious entrance at noon. Keep calm and carry on."

- Mrs. Patterson

{I love the flag that graces the cabin porch}

The bustling of Birthday festivities kept the children entertained.
They also built a rock fort with a deer hunting target as their mascot,
neatly placed at the entrance.

Honey, this week has been really long

Photobucket

I have been dreaming of high places. Like the Cabin. My sister called and said that they are headed up today. Mother and Father will be there too. I really think we could use some fresh air. We have both worked hard this week and the chores are done.

Wouldn't the drive be beautiful. We could roll the windows down just past Cordes Junction, like always.

I would love to take a hike together (hardcore), in the morning. Maybe we could go to town for lunch and I could sneak into Lavender's Blue. I heard they have lots of "new" antiques. I think it would be wonderful.

So what do you say?
